Position: Teaching Advisor (s) - Second Language Training (French)
Location: Ottawa
We are looking for dedicated Teaching Advisors who want to keep focused on their passion. You are an experienced Teaching Advisor committed to meeting the needs of all students enrolling in our French As a Second Language Programs. You possess a proven ability to work with students of varied professional, educational and cultural backgrounds, and bring a demonstrated understanding of teaching/learning French as a second language You are also an innovative and creative Teaching Advisor with strong communication and interpersonal skills able to deal with students' Second Language training challenges.
The main responsibilities for the role are as follows:
- Assessing students
- Supervising the training of students (private and group lessons)
- Supervising and providing pedagogical advice to teachers
- Developing, analyzing and improving programs
- Developing, analyzing and improving teaching materials
- Teaching
- Writing reports
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3 years as a French language teaching advisor or equivalent
- Bachelor of Education or equivalent
- Understanding of adult learning
- Good knowledge of the requirements of the Public Service Commission language levels and tests
- Experience in teaching French as a second language to federal civil servants and others
- Excellent teamwork and organizational skills
- Training on adults' learning difficulties in French as a second language would be an asset
