Program

CILFO offers an English training program for government employees who are seeking to achieve their desired level of fluency based on the Public Service Commission test (Level A/B/C). Students are able to choose their specific area of instruction relating to their specific needs (oral, reading, writing or a combination). Our teachers are highly qualified and dedicated and possess diverse background and credentials, helping us match students and teachers according to their particular learning styles or personal preferences, further enabling each student to experience fun, interactive, relevant, useful and credible English language training.

Approach

Our approach to language learning is communicative in nature, focusing on a customized plan for each student. We begin with an initial assessment, which helps us identify the learners' specific language needs, and allows us to design a plan that will work best for each student. We continue with regular follow-ups to ensure the student is progressing steadily throughout the duration of the course and to identify any weak points that may need focused attention. Our programs are individualized and based on the objectives of the learner, whether it is one-on-one or group instruction. We ensure homogeneous group learning so that students learn at a pace that is level appropriate for all. We also conduct test simulations prior to the public service commission exam so that students feel confident and well prepared.

Materials

CILFO and its ESL teachers have extensive experience with the Communicative English at Work Program (CEWP). CEWP is a complete method with versatile tools designed for adults based on their professional tasks. It enables clients to acquire the skills necessary to communicate with confidence at wok. It is the official program used to teach English by the federal government. We supplement the CEWP program with our own communicative method, using a wide range of materials such as videos, tapes, newspapers, interactive computer learning and other authentic English language sources, which are designed to promote oral interaction. As a basis for grammar study, the Azar series is offered as a tool for providing the most current, relevant and interactive grammar text.

Offer

Our English language training is offered individually or as a group and students can choose to study either on or off site. One-on-one lessons are individualized and our group lessons are kept small in number in order to achieve faster progression. We have a qualified and motivated team of teachers and a friendly and studious atmosphere.
